Account deletion is a real option.
You can start deletion in the app. This page explains the process, its effects, and the limited retention that may apply.
1. Delete in the app
- Open Profile.
- Go to Settings.
- Select Privacy.
- Tap Delete account.
- Complete reauthentication and confirm the irreversible warning.
Logging out, uninstalling the app, removing a match or stopping use does not delete the account. If you want to keep information, request and complete any available export before starting deletion.
2. What happens after confirmation
The account is deactivated and disappears publicly at once. You can no longer sign in, appear in discovery, send messages or recover the profile. The request is irreversible once confirmed.
Profile, photos, preferences, matches, invitations and operational data are queued for deletion. The complete conversation is removed for both people within 30 days. Do not rely on Vapai as a permanent message archive.

These periods, analytics de-identification and implementation of the receipt hash require legal and technical validation before launch.
4. Evidence, obligations and backups
Deletion does not instantly erase data already isolated in backups or minimum information that must legally be kept. Backups remain outside ordinary use and are cleaned up within their 90-day maximum cycle.
If there is a report or safety risk, strictly necessary evidence may be kept for 12 months after case closure. Any additional legal hold must be limited, documented and available only to people who need it. Future economic transactions may be subject to statutory tax retention.
We remove retained data when the reason ends. Information held only for safety or law is not used for discovery, advertising or new purposes.
Evidence, tax and litigation retention must be specified for each jurisdiction and the system actually deployed.
5. If you cannot access the account
If possible, email from the linked address to support@vapai.me with subject “Delete account”. Include only the necessary associated phone or email. We may request a reasonable step to establish account control; never send passwords or SMS codes.
You may also use this channel for data-protection rights or to ask about an active request. The account cannot be recovered after deletion is complete.
