Safety
Safety is part of the product.
Guidance, tools and channels to prevent harm, report conduct and respond to risky situations.
1. Vapai is not an emergency service
If you or someone else is in immediate danger, move to safety if possible and call emergency services where you are. Vapai cannot dispatch police, medical care or urgent assistance, and support email is not monitored as an emergency line.
Vapai is for people aged 18 or older. Date of birth is self-declared and SMS confirmation verifies access to a phone, not identity or age. Do not assume that a profile has been verified.
2. Before and during a meeting
- Keep talking in Vapai until you have enough context.
- Choose a familiar public place with other people around.
- Tell a trusted person the plan and expected return time.
- Arrange your own transport, charge your phone and retain an independent way to leave.
- Do not disclose your home address, documents, access codes or financial information.
- Do not send money, gift cards or cryptocurrency to someone met in the app.
- Watch drinks and belongings. Limit alcohol or other substances.
- Consent must be freely given, specific, informed and reversible at all times.
Trust your instincts. You can cancel, leave or seek help without owing an explanation.
3. Warning signs
Stop the interaction and consider reporting someone who:
- pressures you to leave the app immediately or persistently avoids basic questions;
- requests money, banking details, codes, documents or intimate images;
- threatens, harasses, discriminates, applies sexual pressure or ignores boundaries;
- appears to impersonate someone or makes contradictory claims;
- involves minors in sexual contexts or proposes illegal activity;
- uses investments, jobs, prizes or emergencies to force a payment.
4. Reporting, disconnecting and blocking
Use the report option on the relevant profile, conversation or experience and choose the closest reason. Include verifiable context and keep relevant evidence. You can also email support@vapai.me.
We prioritise reports by severity and risk and act using reasonable efforts. We do not promise a fixed response time. Where blocking is available, it prevents future visible interactions between both accounts; leaving a conversation or removing a match is not necessarily the same as blocking.
Global blocking must be tested across discovery, profiles, matches, chat, invitations, search and notifications before being presented as complete protection.
5. What Vapai may do
We may remove content, limit visibility, preserve evidence, suspend or close accounts and cooperate with authorities where legally supported. We assess context, seriousness, repeat conduct and risk. Missing information may limit an investigation.
Reports, blocks and necessary evidence are provisionally kept for 12 months after case closure. Longer preservation should cover only minimal information under law or a documented legal hold.
A person affected by an action may appeal at support@vapai.me. We will not disclose information that exposes a reporter, enables retaliation or harms an investigation.
Evidence periods, moderation procedure and territory-specific transparency duties require legal validation.
6. Experiences and future partners
Before attending, confirm the place, time, any price, accessibility, activity risks and who provides it. Follow legitimate venue directions, but do not accept conditions that jeopardise your safety or consent.
There is no active commercial partner and bookings or payments are not enabled at launch. If partners are integrated, we will explain which party runs the experience and which channel handles incidents, cancellations or refunds. Vapai will continue receiving safety reports relating to app use.
Not an emergency, but need to report a risk?
Put “Safety” in the subject and include only necessary information.
